  1. the use of visual images or other graphic products (including sketches, paintings, photographs, line drawings, video materials) in anthropological research and communication, typically also involving a form of narrative ethnography and a reflection on the use of graphic materials in anthropological research;
  2. the graphic materials anthropologists or their research participants produce as part of their research collaboration;
  3. an anthropological publication leaning heavily on the use of such visual materials.
